Good coverage of contact chemicals.
I use these hollow cone nozzles for many different chemical applications on tobacco, soybeans and various vegetables. Up the pressure to 50 lb and above and you get very fine drops that penetrate the canopy and cover basically all of the plant. I usually use 3 per row, with one over the top and one on each side. I call it the 'deadly fog' that comes rolling down the row. They are really good for fungicides on vegetables and contact insecticides that have to touch the 'bugs'. Not very windproof at all, but good for thorough plant coverage. I use the 18 and 26 sizes for spraying in the field. I use the smaller 2,3,4, and 6 sizes to produce extremely fine fog for vaporizing water in the air stream of tobacco barns. This creates humidity that you sometimes need to dampen tobacco. The drops from these nozzles are so fine, when injected into warm air, they evaporate almost completely very quickly.
