The BANJO valve is a device used for controlling the passage of fluid or air through a pipe system, notable for its design of injection molding reinforced by polypropylene. Ball valves function by using a ball-shaped disc to control the flow between tubes and pipes. A hole in the center of the disc that can be opened and closed allows material to flow through the system. This hole is open when it is in line with the inlet of the valve, and closed when it is perpendicular to the inlet. Flow through the opening is determined by the size of the inner diameter of the connecting pipeline or tubing. A “full port” valve refers to a valve in which the hole of the ball disc is the same diameter as the inner diameter of the connecting pipeline. Ball valves may also be “standard” or “reduced” port. Reduced port valves are valves in which the diameter of the hole of the ball disk is one pipe size smaller than the pipe itself. This reduced diameter results in less flow coming through the valve than through the shaft of the pipe.
